For alloy wheels that have damage and/or corrosion and for wheels which require a colour change.
The process:
Wheels on vehicles are taken off then all tyres are labelled to ensure they are refitted to the same position as they were removed from the vehicle. All tyres, valves, balance weights and centre caps are then removed.
Alloy wheels are then completely stripped of all existing coating.
Wheels are then washed, dried and individually checked for damage and repaired. Some more serious damage may be welded and machined to maintain the wheel profile.
All wheels are then shot blasted clean, the blasting also helps our coating get a good key into the alloy.
Wheels go into the oven for heat prior to coating. This time allows the wheels to release any gasses or contaminants which could affect the finish.
Vitally the wheels are hung with the flange faces protected which also allows the valve hole to be fully coated.
We then powder coat each wheel in the desired finish followed up with a coating of paint and/or lacquer as required.
Once the wheels have cooled we pull in new rubber valves, refit tyres and balance all wheels. Wheels which came in on the vehicle are then refitted.
This is a same day service for wheels booked in by prior appointment.
