We offer a Diamond cutting service for vehicle owners who are wanting their current tarnished/corroded/damaged diamond cut wheels refurbished to original finish. The diamond cut process is carried out by a specialist CNC machine whereby the front face of the wheel is machined to a precision cut finish.
Firstly the wheels go through our powder coating process before they can be cut. The cutting process involves the surface of the wheel being programmed onto a CNC lathe. The precision cut applied to the rims removes only the amount of alloy required. The wheel is then completed by coating it with a scratch proof lacquer. At this stage the alloys are carefully quality checked by our technicians to ensure it meets our high standards of finish. The tyres are then refitted, inflated to the correct pressure and re-balanced.
However, not all wheels are suitable for diamond cutting. If your wheels have been cut a number of times a certain amount of alloy will have been removed making them unsuitable for diamond cutting again.
You may have found that your diamond cut wheels tend to go milky after time. This is due to the lacquer chipping and moisture consequently gets behind the lacquer, lifting it as a result and oxidising the alloy underneath. The diamond cut finish is prone to this, therefore the diamond cut process can only be guaranteed for 3 months. If this is an issue then you may want to try our powder coating refurbishment which is more durable and carries a guarantee of 12 months.
